What pairs best with meat? Beer.

Wine people, I love ya. But…. I’m going out on a limb to say that beer goes better with food than wine. While a nice hearty red might work well with steak, a nice dark porter works even better.
It’s true. Garrett Oliver of the Brooklyn Brewery has been preaching the virtues of pairing beer & food for years. His argument is that wine pairings work by contrast, whereas beer pairings COMPLIMENT. Give it a shot and see what you think. The next time you’re grilling steaks, get some Newcastle Brown Ale or Rogue Mocha Porter and prepare yourself for a great evening.
